Once logged in, click on the "Write" menu option on the top menu bar.
The blog content management screen is broken up into seven (7) seperate sections.
- Post Contents - This section is where you can add, edit or remove the text, images and video in a blog post/page. For detailed instructions on the editor and all of its different functions follow this link.
- Extended Theme Information - This section is comprised of two (2) parts.
- Themes - The Theme Tags of your post should be chosen to best reflect the content you are writing about. They are used to help build the meta tags for this post/page. The reccomended length for your theme tags is no more then three (3) groups of phrases seperated by commas.
- Short Description - This is used throughout the system for various SEO and descriptions and should simply be the first sentance of your post/page.
- Advanced Properties - Here is where you can set the date and see the link to your post/page.
- Issue Date - If left at the default your post/page will publish immediately with the current date and time. You can also adjust the date and/or time to a past or future time. If set to a future date and/or time, the post/page will not publish until that date/time. If set to a past date/time, the post/page will reflect that date and time also called "backdating your post".
- Post Slug - This is the link to your post/page relative to your URL. This is automatically set by the system and must be unique. For example, if you already have a post/page called Contact Us and you create another post/page with the same title, the post slug for the second entry will be contact-us-1. If you ever need to find the link to a specific post/page you can find it here by going to your Administrator Backend and clicking the "Manage" menu link. From there select either the "Full Posts" or "Post List" tab and then clicking on the "Edit" icon for the post/page you need to find the link to. Editing post content is explained in more detail further down on this page.
- Workflow Properties - This menu item has been depricated and is scheduled to be removed.
- Categories - This section is where you select where you want your post to be displayed. The Categories section is comprised of three (3) areas. When creating a "Page" the settings in this section are not applied.
- Main - This bullet selection chooses the primary section you want your post to be displayed in. Only one (1) can be selected for your primary category.
- Extra - This checkbox menu selector allows you to choose multiple categories in which to display your post.
- Category - This is where the names of your Categories and Sub Categories are displayed.
- Post Status - This area controls the status of your post/page. Choices are made using the bullet menu to the left of the options. Only one (1) can be selected.
- Published - Choose this option if you want to post/page to be viewable immediately. (Dependant on the Post Date you have chosen.)
- Protected - Choose this option if you want your post/page to be viewable only to members of your blog.
- Private - Choose this option if you want the post/page to be viewable by you only.
- Draft - Choose this option if you want to save the post/page but do not want it to be viewable on your blog by anyone.
- Hidden - Choose this option if you want to hide the post/page from view but still publish it. Not reccomended for use on more then a very limited basis for SEO reasons.
- Redirected - Choose this option if you want to link your post/page to another post/page elsewhere in your blog. If you have chosen to input a "Link to URL" item in the post editor choose this option.
- Comments - If you have comments enabled in "Blog Settings - Features - Feedback Options" this option will be displayed. You can choose to have commenting on your post/page open, closed or disabled.
